Bicep x Spotify.

A bespoke, comprehensive artist marketing partnership to drive audience development, engagement and album streams on Spotify for Bicep’s sophomore album, ‘Isles’, released in January 2021. 

We created marketing moments and drove audience growth and album streams via a multi-territory marketing campaign which took place over 14 months, from the teasers for the first album single to the digital deluxe album release. The campaign included on-platform marketing tools, editorial programming, social support, a Fans First merchandise offer and a Fans First livestream ticket pre-sale offer for the band’s Saatchi Gallery livestream. 

We also created a bespoke marketing campaign for Bicep’s takeover of Spotify’s flagship playlist for underground electronic music, Altar, in April 2021. Bicep curated the playlist programming for a week-long takeover, and we commissioned bespoke assets from the band’s long-time creative agency, Studio Degrau. Bicep and Studio Degrau created the campaign visuals for ‘Isles’ through sculptural, fluid moments, which were created by freezing gestures of the human body while reacting to techno. By freezing continuous moments, the experience provides polyedric vision, enabling emotional states to be experienced and perceived from all angles. Our bespoke creative for the Altar takeover combined the themes of transcendence, continuity and contemplation with the look and feel of Altar, Spotify’s flagship playlist for underground electronic music. 

We promoted the takeover via an organic and paid social marketing campaign, on-platform marketing tools, editorial programming and PR. 

Key campaign results included the album charting at #2 in the UK Official Charts, Bicep’s highest-ever streaming day on Spotify, and huge increases in the band’s monthly listeners, followers and daily streams on Spotify.
